meditation

I have
been meditating for several years now and find it to be an incredible source of peace and comfort. At first it was hard to stop my busy mind from wandering, but in time and with a little patience it does become easier.
There are many books on the market that teach the practice of meditation, but I have found none as simple and as beautiful as the book written by Eknath Easwaran simply titled Meditation.
This book is an eight step program that teaches you to calm your mind, focus your attention and make time in your life for spiritual growth. It does not matter what religion you are, or even if you are not affiliated with any religion at all, Eknath’s words implore comfort to all. The book also has no dogma or elaborate rituals, just the simple methods that he has used himself his entire life. Being from the east where meditation is commonplace, he saw a great void in western culture as people rushed through their lives full of anxiety and stress.
The foundation Mr. Easwaran founded is called the Blue Mountain Center of Meditation and they maintain a website which has much of his book published directly on the site completely free.
If you plan on starting a practice of mediation, the methods taught in this book, offer an easy and uncomplicated path to almost effortlessly begin your journey.
