a message of peace
Apr 14th, 2007 by indigo-daisy
There is a helpless feeling that goes along with having family members
living in a war zone and not being able to do anything about it. I have had a very difficult time coping with this over the years with my husband’s family living directly inside Baghdad. For my husband it has been much more difficult because it is his homeland and his country of birth.
I have done all the antiwar protests and poems and letters to congress that my energy has allowed me, which brought me to the realization that I need to stop using my energy fighting against war and put it to a more positive use and promote peace. I saw a flash video a few years back that I found most comforting and I thought I would give it try and do something similar for my family and those that are suffering from the pains of war.
The message is a simple one. You can live in a perfect world without war or pain or suffering and still not be at peace. The power of peace starts within and reflects outwards. When you allow yourself to find peace inside, you will begin to see it everywhere in your life, and soon your peace will begin to inspire those around you.
In order to find peace, you start by making time to quite your mind. Look for the small things in life that you take comfort in, and let go of anxiety, stress and anger. Soon you will begin to feel more and more at peace, and when that happens, hold on to the feeling as long as you can until it becomes your very breath.
Peace is not impossible and the more the world thinks about it the more it will be.
A special thanks to Hans Christian who generously allowed me to use his music “Tears for MA” from his CD “Surrender”. You may find this and more of his work on his web-site rasa-music.com .
