find a good book without leaving your house
Jul 4th, 2007 by indigo-daisy
There are days when I feel sort of melancholy in which I find it hard to leave the house to do anything. It is times like these that reading tends to be a good pick-me-up. But when leaving the house to find something to read is too much of a chore, I have turned to places like my local library. Our library system offers thousands of e-books, audio books and music online for free; the only requirement is a library card.
Don’t have a library card or a library near you? Try looking through the thousands of free e-books at Project Gutenberg. These are older books, but you will find classics from authors like William Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll, Jane Austen and Edgar Allen Poe. Project Gutenberg also has access to audio books, music and e-books in many different languages.
I like crafty things and found a neat little book called Knots, Splices and Rope Work by Hyatt Verrill and spent an afternoon sitting quietly learning how to tie knots.
