the laws of my soul las leyes de mi alma

there are three major types of laws that people will follow, hay tres tipos principales de las leyes que la gente va a seguir,

the laws of the land, las leyes de la tierra,
the laws of the church, las leyes de la iglesia,
and the laws of the soul y las leyes del alma

if there should come a time when they are not equal, and I must choose one over the other si debe venir un momento en que no son iguales, y tengo que elegir uno sobre el otro
I shall choose to follow my soul, Voy a elegir para seguir mi alma,
for I can step outside of the land and the church, para que pueda salir de la tierra y la iglesia,
but I can not step outside my soul. pero no puedo salir de mi alma.

It was a very lonely time for me as I felt isolated from country and church in my stance against war. Se trata de una muy solitaria tiempo para mí como me sentía aislada del país y de la iglesia en mi postura contra la guerra. The only way I found peace, was in knowing that I stood true to my higher self. La única manera que encontré la paz, fue a sabiendas de que yo era fiel a mi mayor autonomía.
