a human experience

We are here as spiritual beings trying to live life in a human body.
As the saying goes, we are not humans trying to have a spiritual experience, but spirits trying to have a human experience.
For some, the transition comes easy. These souls embrace life without fear. These are the ones you will find challenging their brains, delving into strong relationships, and creating astounding works of art. They see life as a gift, and no matter what their situation is these courageous souls accept life as an opportunity to learn and to strengthen their spirit.
Then there are those souls that seem to struggle all their lives in emptiness and depression; longing to find a way to be back in spirit where it feels safe and comfortable. They fear losing what little they have not understanding that what they have is not theirs to begin with. Becoming lost in addictions, they find themselves desperately searching for the quickest route to be at peace. Some become so obsessed that they often do not realize how damaging these addictions are to their bodies or to the loved ones around them until it is too late.
The majority of us though find ourselves drifting between the two. Sometimes embracing life, and sometimes slipping into fear. When I catch myself slipping, I know it is time to wake up and start venturing outside of my comfort zone.
I read a saying while passing through a gift shop the other day that read something like this…
Some people don’t realize that there are angles among us
whose only purpose in life is to continually disrupt us
so that we don’t get too comfortable
and fall asleep
and miss our life
So the next time find your life disrupted, it might only mean that you were getting a bit too comfortable and falling asleep and missing out on your human experience.

Like you Im probably drifting between the two, although I lean towards embracing life, especially new experiences. I do love the last little poem. It gives visions of little mischeivious angels watching those that are becoming a little to comfy and tweaking their ear or stepping on their toes…smile ..lovely post
