is so important to your heaven? es tan importante para tu cielo?
How is it you’ve forgiven ¿Cómo es que has perdonado
more then the seventy times seven? más de los setenta veces siete?

How is that a tiny star ¿Cómo es que una pequeña estrella
can be greater than the earth? puede ser superior a la tierra?
How is it you’ve so dumbfounded man ¿Cómo es posible que haya tan dumbfounded hombre
with the miracle of birth? con el milagro de su nacimiento?

How is it Lord ¿Cómo es Señor
there’s so many people in this world? hay tanta gente en este mundo?
With different colors, different features Con diferentes colores, diferentes características
hair that’s straight and hair that’s curled secador de que la recta y que el cabello rizado

How is it that these people ¿Cómo es posible que estas personas
speak so many different tongues? hablar tantas lenguas diferentes?
With words that can be made so beautiful Con palabras que se pueden hacer tan bello
especially when they’re sung especialmente cuando están cantadas

How is it Lord, that my brother ¿Cómo es posible Señor, que mi hermano
who lives across the sea que vive a través del mar
Can live a life that would seem ¿Puede vivir una vida que parece
so difficult to me? tan difícil para mí?

And yet if I were born with him Y, sin embargo, si se nace con él
I’d follow in his ways Me encantaría seguir en sus caminos

what this life is all about lo que esta vida tiene que ver con

I wrote this many years ago at the beginning of my spiritual quest.  It was a point where I was beginning to understand that a spiritual journey was one that did not require any kind of religion so to speak, just an open heart and a willingness to be at peace.
