magic moments

While walking in the park this week I noticed that they cleared all the tall grasses from one side of the pond so you could actually see the pond from the walkway. It was simply beautiful.
Most of the time there will be a few ducks or geese swimming along the grasses.
The city has been pushing a lot of money renovating this park so every week we see something new. It really gives us something to look forward to.

I was thinking how lucky we were to find a place so beautiful so close to home. However, as I pondered a little more, I began to realize that it doesn’t matter where on this earth you live. If you lived in the slums, you could still find beauty if you really tried looking for it.
That was my magic moment for this week, realizing that when I look for beauty, or happiness or comfort… I usually find it.

It does look like magic there!
I love it there! And it is less than a mile from my driveway!
Those mountains are BEE-U-TIFUL!!
You’re right though, if you look around, you can find beauty anywhere…
We live in a small subdivision in the ‘burbs, but our house is on a corner-lot, so we’re not quite as closed in as some of our neighbors. A couple from the other side of the neighborhood was walking past the other day and remarked how nice our view was from where we lived. I guess compared with what they have to look at from their front door vs. what I have to look at, we do have a nice view.
Vegas is actually a very pretty and clean city. I have lived here for three years now and I never tire of looking at the mountains on my way to and from work. Until they build the lot behind us, we have a nice view of the east side of the city all the way up the mountains. With housing down, I don’t expect them to start building for a few more years.
